Remembering cues about the best locations in a city is very important. So you would keep a diary by noting the address and characteristics of the locations you visited and particularly appreciated. Or you could use some free location based directory like Foursquare or Gowalla to check-in in that place with the hope that this obscure but delicious little restaurant in the outskirts of a little village in the north of Vietnam was noticed by the editors.
